ACSC are looking for 3 tustees with hopefully experience in the following:-

These are voluntary positions, training and support will be given.

The following planning applications have been received:-

AL/106/11 6 Orchards Gardens – Conversion of Roof Space.

AL/111/11 Thatched Cottage, Sack Lane, Conversionof Barn into Holiday Accomodation.

AL/109/11/L Rush Cottage, Nyton Road, Westergate, including Listed Building Consent, various alterations both internal and external. Observations and comments to Arun DC by 12/01/12

WOODGATE HOUSING & Commercial Development

The above planning application has been passed to the Inspectorate for hearing next year, no date or venue available at present. Ref: AL/69/11.

Although Arun approved the Commercial Development with some 14 conditions, it appears that the developer is objecting to some of these, therefore this application is also going to appeal and may be combined with the the Housing appeal, again no venue or date available at present. Ref:AL/70/ll

Councillors Required – Local Plan

Aldingbourne Parish Council requires at least 2 more people to become councillors. You will be a co-opted councillor and required to attend 10 meetings a year if possible. On becoming a councillor, you will not be presurised into sitting on a committee, unless you feel you wish to. If you are interested in becoming a councillor, please contact Rod Cooper, Clerk to the council or myself as Chair.

During next year the Local Plan/Big Society for our village will gain momentumn. The parish council already has 3 dedicated and hard working councillors dealing with this. The response to both our questionaire and open morning from the public was very disappointing, Thank you to those of you that did respond. Please bear in mind that the parish council’s local plan has to fit with Arun’s plan and also ensure that our plan does not have a knock-on affect with our neighbouring villages.

Without imput from the whole parish, we can only assume that our plans will be acceptable to you all. Once these have been submitted to Arun and are accepted by Arun, it will be too late for you to have your say.

Next Planning and Parish Council meeting

Aldingbourne Parish Council next meeting is Tuesday 7th February 2012 at community Centre, Olivers Meadow, Westergate, at 7.45pm. This will be preceeded with the Planning Meeting starting at 7pm.

All are welcome at both meetings.

FISH ‘N’ CHIPS

An approach has been made to Aldingbourne Community & Sports Centre for a Mobile Fish ‘N’ Chip van to be parked in the car park of the centre 1 night a week. We understand the Trustees are in favour of this and the Parish Council in principal has no objection, other than a possible problem with litter not only in car park, but over the grounds and childrens playground area. A request has been made that the owner of this facility ensures that the areas are cleared of rubbish before he/she leaves the car park. We hope as responsible residents you will ensure, that should you eat your food and have drinks whilst at the centre, that you use the rubbish bins to dispose of wrappings and tins. etc.

The above will be there every Thursday night, arriving at 4.30pm, please allow an hour for him to set and and start cooking. Hope you will enjoy your meal, any comments to ACSC and Chair of Parish Council at e-mail address.

Please note this is an Aldingbourne Community and Sports Centre matter and any comments should be made direct to them, although we too would appreciate your views/comments.

OLYMPIC TOURCH

It would appear the Olympic Tourch will be coming through Aldingbourne Parish (A29), on 16th July 2012, at present we do not have a time or whether it will be carried by a runner or on a car. WATCH THIS SPACE FOR UP DATES.

Parish Council Meetings

Aldingbourne Parish Council meetings are held the first Tuesday in every month, expect August and January.

Before the Council meeting starts, there is 15mins public time in which you can raise any issues that are not on the agenda. Depending on how many people wish to raise issues, the Chair to the Council may have to at times curtail a discussion so others have time to raise their points or the Council may have to obtain further information on the point raised. If Should this happen, the Chair will request that the item be placed on the next meetings agenda for further discussion. There are certains matters that come under the ACSC Trustees, if this is the case the matter will be placed on the agenda of their nexting meeting, which the public are also welcome to attend. Details of ACSC meetings can be obtained from Mr. Mike Burton.
